ditto with not being able to write in exam conditions. i'm way too slow at getting my thoughts together. overall, i'm pretty disappointed because i completely fucked up my english exam and was counting on doing better in literature.

Same. I am so disappointed in myself. I thought the passages were great. There was not a passage on one of my texts (Hedda, A Passage to India) that I had not at one point analysed in a practise response. I prepared so well and really needed an A+ and believed I could get it, but everything fell apart in the exam. I honestly think those are the worst two pieces I have ever written.

BAD, JUST BAD.
But general consensus is "I am disappointed".
So perhaps that's a plus.  Hi Vain.

Anyway, APTI Passages weren't anything to do with conflict of logic and belittling of humanity, so that was fun.  Even though I picked up on the stuff about the shipwreck imagery in passage 1 paralleling with the shipwreck stuff in passage 3, I didn't use it because I don't talk about friendship and relationships.
I'm cool.
And Chekhov, I don't even know what I wrote.
Fin.

17 pages later, my hand is dead and my brain is exploding.  Methods should be great tomorrow, then.

Hamlet passages:

1.
CLAUDIUS How is it that the clouds still hang on you?
HAMLET Not so my lord, I am too much i'th'sun
GERTRUDE Good Hamlet cast thy nighted colour off,
And let thine eye look like a friend on Denmark...
---
(ends with) CLAUDIUS Why, 'tis a loving and a fair reply.

2.
OPHELIA                               ...
How does your honour for this many a day?
HAMLET I humbly thank you, well, well, well.
OPHELIA My lord, I have remembrances of yours
That I have longed long to re-deliver
I pray you now receive them.
---
(ends with) HAMLET Let the doors be shut upon him, that he may play the fool nowhere but in's own house. Farewell.

3.
ROSENCRANTZ                     Will't please you go my lord?
HAMLET I'll be with you straight; go a little before.
                                                  [Exeunt all but Hamlet]
How all occassions do inform against me,
And spur my dull revenge! What is man
If his chief good and market of his time
Be but to sleep and feed? A beast, no more.
---
(ends with) My thoughts be bloody or be nothing worth.     Exit]

Thanks a lot!  +1 to you.  :p

The third one in particular seems brilliant - a bit sad that I can't get it next year now.  D:

Oh hey simpak. I picked up on that too! But I didn't end up getting to it in my hour and half rambling...just went into the tides of emotion and how they show that Aziz isn't a shit person, he's just a victim of forces (tides) beyond his control. Also that the narrative voice is all mystical and ambiguous, just like the Indians. I talked so much shit about narrative voice and diction that I completely missed the point. Any point.

Bring on methods...

The passages for Frankenstein and Much Ado About Nothing were really good but I could barely squeeze out 3 pages on each. :(

Don't worry, that sounds accurate.
I had to relate that shit to truth of the mood overcoming the structured rigidity of humanity.
Good luck to me.

OMG shittest PTI passages EVAH!
Seriously, it was just all vague and blah - and as for language features *facepalm*

And Donne - why did they repeat a poem?! I mean, seriously, I know everyone loves the "twin compasses" but why not His Picture or Canonisation instead of Valediction?!

So you disliked them too? D:
We're both in the same boat.

As for Donne, I was surprised they gave you a poem that short?  Unfair, in my opinion.  Glad I chose not to do it.

I know!!!!!!! When I saw Valediction on it I nearly jumped up and shouted 'what the hell?!' I was so expecting Canonization or Relic.

I'm not going to lie, I was seriously considering writing on "Three Sisters" even though I hadn't studied it - the PTI were god-awful!

Three sisters; the same shit runs throughout every passage you can possibly get.
Still, I managed to fuck it up by trying to write it in 40 minutes.
Good.
