Exam itself was great, I sucked.

That pretty much sums it up.

It was okay, well below my best work though. Good selection of poems for Donne. Unless I really surprise myself there's no way it'll be in my top 4.

Mmm exactly.  I did Harwood and Hamlet.. pretty good passages for both, plenty to link them too.  And in the last sac I blitzed it.  But having just one hour to construct something like I wanted to.. it just didn't happen.

Lesson learned (far too late):  Trials, Trials Trials.

ahh i did trials, but it can never reaaaally prepare you for how to go on the day. i feel i wrote better in my trials! you're in a totally different mindset, and you have those examiners walking up and down and watching your every move. its so intimidating and such a bad environment to work in.
ahhhh sooooo sooooooo glad its over. mega brain strain.

ditto with not being able to write in exam conditions. i'm way too slow at getting my thoughts together. overall, i'm pretty disappointed because i completely fucked up my english exam and was counting on doing better in literature.

i thought the keats passages were great. i used la belle dame... and ode to a nightingale. i found the washington square passages really average. i ended up rushing the ends of both essays, which weren't really that good to begin with. guuuuhhhhhh.

The Hamlet passages? argh, I don't have a scanner! Does anyone have a scanner, or do you want me to type it up?

If you tell me what they're about I'll probably know roughly where they are in the text.  :p

Hamlet passages:

1.
CLAUDIUS How is it that the clouds still hang on you?
HAMLET Not so my lord, I am too much i'th'sun
GERTRUDE Good Hamlet cast thy nighted colour off,
And let thine eye look like a friend on Denmark...
---
(ends with) CLAUDIUS Why, 'tis a loving and a fair reply.

2.
OPHELIA                               ...
How does your honour for this many a day?
HAMLET I humbly thank you, well, well, well.
OPHELIA My lord, I have remembrances of yours
That I have longed long to re-deliver
I pray you now receive them.
---
(ends with) HAMLET Let the doors be shut upon him, that he may play the fool nowhere but in's own house. Farewell.

3.
ROSENCRANTZ                     Will't please you go my lord?
HAMLET I'll be with you straight; go a little before.
                                                  [Exeunt all but Hamlet]
How all occassions do inform against me,
And spur my dull revenge! What is man
If his chief good and market of his time
Be but to sleep and feed? A beast, no more.
---
(ends with) My thoughts be bloody or be nothing worth.     Exit]

I did alright I think, wasn't my best work. The Washington Square passages were rather good, noting too troubling. The first passage I was VERY happy with as I did an analysis on the exact passage a few days ago.

The Keats poems didn't really have me too thrilled, I don't like George or La belle but I did alright. I think I might have relied on the positive and negative connotations of the words. Oh well.
