OCTOBER 2020 MOTMs

Another month of 2020 down and with it a lot of exam prep, stress, and support. For October we’re highlighting two members who have been active in the more academic areas of the forum helping their fellow students with their studies as our Members of the Month. Please join us in congratulating our very worthy MotMs and PotM authors, and feel free to suggest any posts that were especially fantastic throughout October!

THE NSW WINNER FOR OCTOBER IS...
Congratulations to...

Rirerire joined the forums in May last year and made their first post in August of this one. Since then, they’ve started posting more steadily both asking their own questions and giving support to others. This has been especially clear in October, with posts like this HSC English post, this HSC Modern History reply, and this HSC English exam clarification. They’ve even tried out helping a VCE student here. I’ve already seen another helpful Vic November post but this summary is about October so I’ll leaving it there while saying that we definitely look forward to seeing more from you into November and the future more broadly! 😊

Thank you rirerie for the guidance, help & reassurance you’ve given others!

THE VIC WINNER FOR OCTOBER IS...
Congratulations to...

James.lhr would be a familiar name for frequenters of the methods q&a thread. They joined the forums on the last day of June and their first post was a series of step by step methods solutions posted in July. It’s always heart-warming to see someone changing from a lurker to a poster to help someone out, and james.lhr even went the extra mile to embed an image for it. Needless to say, it has been fantastic to have them here for the 2nd half of 2020 but I better move on to October. This month saw many well written, detailed, friendly methods posts as we’ve come to expect (e.g. here, here, here, and here) but that doesn’t mean that they only made high quality contributions in methods. For example, james.hlr has given GAT support and extra curricular advice. That being said, a really stand-out contribution was this compilation of past exam questions (including NHT!) relevant to 2020. Really stellar effort.

I’m sure your advice and resources have helped many, many students and I’m keen to see what you get up to in the future! Thank you for all of your contributions so far 😊

We'd also want to acknowledge the other outstanding contributions to the AN community through some top-notch posts! So, drum roll please, here are the...

OCTOBER 2020 POTMs

Please join us in congratulating our October MotMs and PotMs once again!

We know that the end of the year is fast approaching, exams are hectic, and this year has definitely not been the easiest. With all of the uncertainty and stress it has been extra-fantastic to see people providing support and advice where they can

I feel like it's also worth pointing out that we are currently accepting mod applications - thank you to everyone who has or will apply and don't forget to let people know if you think they'd be great for the role

Thank you so much everyone and best of luck for any exams you have; looking forward to seeing people in this community continue to uplift each other through November 😊

Thanks so much everyone! Congratulations to Rirerire as well as all the fantastic POTMs!

I'm truly honoured by this recognition and will certainly continue contributing to the forums wherever possible over the coming years. I'm feel so fortunate to be part of this amazing community and have learnt so much from you guys.

I would like to give a special thanks to Ashmi for introducing me to the forums and helping me with the NYSF applications (couldn't have possible got it without you!  ;D) and Keltingmeith for inspiring me with all his comprehensive and passionate posts.

I look forward to contributing more (when I can finally start answering on non MM threads ::)) and benefiting from everyone else's contributions!

thanks everyone!!
I can't wait to start contributing more after HSC, this is genuinely the most helpful forum ever and every one of my pedantic questions gets answered haha. you guys are such a great team and have really built such a positive environment for every one to benefit from, regardless of whether they're a regular or have just logged on to ask a single question.
btw thank you Angelina for help with all those english Qs, I applied your advice for advanced (and will tomorrow for ext 1 as well) and I can already tell it gave me such a major boost, I felt way more confident walking out of my exams!!! :)
