Just note that 2.005 is an exact answer even if they ask for an exact answer. In the exam everything needs to be an exact answer unless required to a specific number of demical places. But there is nothing about 2.005 that is an approximation, it is 100% exactly the same as the fraction given.

annahinh you would lose one mark for the 'answer' mark, but you would receive the other marks for your working out :)

When you say "exact", does that include simplifying fractions as well?  Or can you leave something like 12/10?

I think it needs to be simplified.

Could I lose a mark for having -1/2log_e|1-2x| instead of -1/2log_e|2x-1|?
And would labeling the domain of the inverse this way (3/(x+4) for x ε R\{-4}) get me full marks for that question?

Yeah that's fine, full marks.

Yeah.  I labelled the domain like that as well.  Though I'm kicking myself at not simplifying 12/10...  Now I believe teachers when they say:

"Under the pressure of exams, you do funny things you don't normally do.  When you walk out after having realised a mistake, you can only ask, 'Why the hell did I do that?'"

When did we need to simplify?

When did we need to simplify?

It depends how you approached the questions.  But for me, it was the expected value question.

Haha, yeah I did some things that I just feel like a tard for doing. Ah well, hopefully I don't do that in exam 2 heh

I didn't list the Dom for the inverse. Didn't ask for one. It's stupid they want something and not ask for it. Didn't ABS my anti diff for the log. And the last question was just shit really.

Happy with 37/40 though.

The cut off was 37.5/40 for last year's exam, not 38/40. Has anyone uploaded a copy? I'm interested in seeing it! =) I heart Methods.

would i lose a mark for leaving an answer as 6/9 instead of 2/3? Question 7a Pr(x>1 / x< or =3), worth 2 marks
I believe that all owners of dogs should be legally bound to pick up their canine's waste materials while walking them intrusively through society's streets. If they do not abide to this law, then imprisonment or deportation or conscription to the military would be warranted.

I think they go fussy on some of the questions for simplification? If the questions said "simplified answer" then you might lose 1 mark, that too, only once if you've repeated the same mistake elsewhere in the exam. It's like 'dx' I think, sometimes it's penalised, sometimes not.
