Going to add to this at least once a week, maybe more who knows. Starting a little later than everyone else so let's just say this is week 3 term 2 and I'll provide a quick overview of what has happened so far, even if I can just look back at it at a later date.

2019 (year 9) - completed General Math 1/2
2020 (year 10) - completed Psychology, Methods, Legal Study 1/2
2021 (year 11) - Chemistry and Literature 1/2, Methods, Further + Legal 3/4
2022 (year 12) - Chemistry + Lit 3/4, potential pickup of another subject or uni extension

So far one thing I'm finding really hard to get a hold of is motivation, it is so easy to just step away from doing work and not open my school bag when I get home from school. Literature is particularly difficult as it is by correspondence (shout out to VSV) as there is no in real life teacher or class keeping me accountable for falling a little behind. I have until June 8th to submit all tasks, so there will be a lot of cramming in the time until then to get all work handed in.

In regards to SACs, I could be doing a lot better if I did notes and completed practice questions. My first further SAC I got 83%, which honestly I'm surprised with because I did very little work and haven't started my bound reference. Most of my errors were not in content but rather silly mistakes like not labelling axes and such which is also an issue I have in Methods. I got very complacent with Further since I am doing it just for a slight ATAR boost but I know I could do a lot better. First Legal SAC was a 76% and our teacher admitted she made it hard on purpose so that we would be prepared for the exam. No one got 80 or above on that one. My weak point is task words and being able to provide enough information for mark allocation, started doing a lot more practice questions for the next SAC.

Methods I believe I'm doing ok, at least in circular functions, and I hope our SAC has at least some of that on it. Hoping to smash out a lot more literature work tonight will keep you updated  :)

Well updating this a little earlier than I thought I would, managed to complete and upload three weeks of Literature work last night, very happy with this as it feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Still a lot to do but every bit helps!
Had a Chemistry topic test today, screwed up balancing equations, maths was correct but not in the chemistry sense if that makes sense. Does anyone know how to separate chemistry/further/methods maths in their brain because I keep crossing the wires  :-[

Only a few more weeks until all my SACs decide to gang up on me, I think I have methods, legal and further in the same week  :'( Next week have my last literature SAC for the semester, feeling okay about it just need to find time to watch 10 Things I Hate About You. Methods has turned into basically speedrunning the rest of the content we have before the SAC, we're behind by a lot, only just started chapter 9 but so far differentiation isn't hurting me too badly. Have a bunch of practice SAC questions to work through in legal, goodness gracious I hate civil law with a burning passion!

Haven't started my bound references for methods or further, waiting until later in the year to churn them out so that I'm not including things that I feel I have under control. Let's just pretend that's the reason instead of my massive procrastination habit.

I got a lot of SACs in one week as well, in fact we had 3 SACs in one week lol. Do your best, don't let procrastination stop you.

Another thing sneaking up is my first ever GAT! Bit apprehensive and a bit excited to be honest with y'all, not sure if there is even any practice I can do for it. I suppose a lot of you would've also done it in year 11 if you fasttracked a subject, I could've done it last year but the further classes were all full... oh well. Feeling slightly unwell after getting the flu shot last night, concentration for the day feels like it has hit an all-time low but hopefully this only lasts maybe today and tomorrow and I'll be back at it again on Monday.

In better news, received chemistry test back and the only thing I mucked up was the balancing equations! Good to know I only have that particular area to work on instead of a whole bunch of other stuff.

I originally thought this would be a once a week thing but honestly there's so much going on if anyone wants to read my ramblings

Rest up and try to relax. Make sure you're really well again. Have you considered trying to get extensions on SACs or anything because of illness? It's worth a try, in my mind.

Hey all guess who's back... I'm back!

I must be the only one who's happy that Victoria has gone into lockdown for a little bit because I've been able to catch up on so much work, not only am I up to date now... I'm actually ahead! Will it last long? Probably not but just happy that I've got a little bit of spare time on my hands now

Alright time for a proper update!

Yesterday was my legal SAC and... no one finished, literally no one. I managed to write an answer in for every question but for a few of the questions (looks suspiciously at 9 marker) I didn't get to put in the depth that I wanted to in my response. Discussing with classmates, many chose to leave entire sections blank and focus on the higher marked questions but I'm hoping I can scrape my marks from every question and keep my high ranking. Our teacher did admit it was a hard SAC and civil law really isn't an area that I get much enjoyment out of.

Spent so long last night revising for my chem exam this morning especially on hydrocarbons and carboxylic acids, esthers and alcohols all that jazz only for it to not appear as much in the exam as I thought it would. Bit disappointed that I wasted time studying the wrong area but I do have a SAC next week I believe where this extra study time will come in handy.

Moving into Unit 2 of literature with VSV and have some time to catch up on some work that I haven't yet submitted, also have to remind myself to read the Great Gatsby over the holidays so that I'm prepared for the next unit. I'm not sure whether or not I'm going to continue with lit as it is really difficult to get all the feedback you need without being in a face-to-face classroom. I got the results for my poetry SAC back and it was not as high as I wanted but good gracious I hate poetry and poetical analysis so I'll take it.

Studying for the first methods SAC next week as it got pushed back (again) because of the lockdown, very nervous about how I will go with that as I understand most of the content but then absolutely draw a blank when it comes to any sort of test conditions.

Also tomorrow is the further financial and recursion SAC which is actually something I am looking forward to as I do enjoy financial maths. I have to brush up on a lot of the recurrence relations and rules because I feel like that will be the area that might trip me up during the SAC. It shouldn't be too challenging but making stupid mistakes always lowers my results because I don't doublecheck some working or check what the question is asking specifically. This honestly applies to all my subjects, need to pull my head in a little about this so that I don't make the same mistakes come end of year exams.

Alrighty was watching some X-Files last night and seeing Scully fill in her field report reminded me that I haven't updated this journal in a fair bit of time. So without further ado, here's another update!

Because my immune system sucks immensely, I got sick (again!!!!!!) during a week of SACs. Honestly feels like I should start taking vitagummies or something because this is going to be a big problem if I get sick during exam weeks. Just for an added cherry on top, I'm sure everyone here has already had a look at the exam timetable for this year and my birthday is jammed between 4 math exams! Go me! At least it's a public holiday but definitely spending the entire time studying. But I missed my methods SAC and a Chemistry SAC because I was sick.

I've started the methods SAC and... wow. I spent the whole time whilst sick trying to jam some study in when I felt okayish but none of the practice SACs, textbook questions or edrolo seemed to correlate with what was on parts of the SAC. There's only six people in my methods class and from the sound of it, that's gonna drop down to 3 at the most. A lot of people are attempting to transfer to further and cram Unit 3/4 into one semester as they believe it will give them a better result than methods.

Haven't received the official result from my further SAC but my teacher said it appeared that I would be in the 90 percents somewhere which honestly is the good SAC result I need after just feeling like I'm barely scraping by. Motivation is getting harder to come by but I've made it halfway through the year so at least most of it is behind me at this point

Hey all, it has been a long while since I have updated my journal. I’m going to be completely honest… I kinda forgot that it existed, blasphemous I know. A lot has happened between my last update and now which is to be expected since it has been 3 odd months.

I always had high expectations for what I wanted to achieve in VCE and the score I wanted for my ATAR (always thought I could get that 90+). This year has been a massive humbling experience, my performance has dropped considerably and only now a few days out before my first exam have I started to really get back on track. I’ve come to terms with the fact that Methods will not be in my top five subjects, it would honestly take a miracle for me to get higher than a raw 20 something. For now I am trying to focus on getting a raw 25 to keep my uni courses open, and at the moment that feels quite unobtainable. Praying that VCAA doesn’t decide to do a 2020 on us and give methods one of the hardest exams ever in the history of the subject. Concepts and equations aren’t sticking in my brain all that well and I’m feeling burnt out from doing questions and prac exams all day.

Further is my safety net, on all the practice exams that I have done it’s been A+ and a lot of them I have been scoring 100% but I don’t know how badly exam nerves will hit me on the day. Getting above a 40 would hopefully prevent the damage methods is going to do to my score and maybe give me some confidence for next year.
Have only done one or two legal prac exams for the sole reason that I have a gap of roughly a week between my method exam and legal and I remember the content relatively well. Once I push all the math out of my brain, I can fill it with the necessary legal jargon and cases required.

I applied for school captain at my school and I think I have a decent chance of being elected. My year level coordinator, who happens to be part of the teacher leadership, dissuaded me from doing another five subjects next year as she thinks I will get the position and therefore need time to fulfil my duties. Speaking of subjects for next year I will be doing Chem 3/4, Psych 3/4 on campus but I have decided to continue Lit online with VSV as well as pick up Classical Studies 3/4. I got 100% on one of my literature SACs this year and I’m sure you can tell that I’ve been riding that high for a while. As for why I picked classical studies, I realised that I’ve been doing subjects purely for prerequisites and not something that I enjoy and I feel that Classical Studies will be able to bridge that gap and I’m more likely to do well in something I enjoy. It was between that and specialist maths but I decided that I can’t learn maths well online, of which spesh would be completely online.

I apologise for not being active, it’s been a busy year and my head has felt very cluttered and disorganised but here’s a small update. At least I’m still alive 😊
