For the question where u have to work out the length of the tunnel i think it's supposed to be 4-2root 3.
2 + 2 - 2root3 = 4-2root 3

I put 2root3 so can somone plz let me koe if it's 2root3 or 4-2root3.

Thanks
2\sqrt3
Or better yet, read the solutions from the thread, which says 2\sqrt3

Haha beat me to it! :P

Hey guys just a quick q, although I'm pretty sure this is fine.
The second part of the probability Q where it asked for 'exact' values.
I got a bit confused, so i used fractions; I thought it didn't want me to use decimals.
As long as my fractions are right, and give the same decimal as the correct answers, that's still fine yes?

how do u manage to get these exam right after the exam? that more intriguing than the solutions themselves.
Walk up to examiner, ask examiner for copy, walk bak off. I beared witness to it myself. It was fukn amazing.
God Amen what?
I made the attempt at Exam 2 for spec and methods and exam 1 for methods and got turned away both times. The examiner said they aren't allowed to give the copies to anyone but the VCE co-ordinator which is a load of bull considering the exam is done and it's not gonna help anybody

TT was very persuasive, I could have written a 1000 word essay on all the persuasive techniques he used to get his hands on the vcaa paper.

At first the examiner wouldnt let him get the paper so he started beseeching the examiners castle with his sword. He then proceeded to prithee that the examiner doth alloweth him to taketh the exam only in ordereth to useth it forth the ability to posteth it onlineth for sultionth. After hearingeth the reason the examiner doth findethed TT's persuasive skills too persuasive and was for him. Thus TT was able to get the vcaa exam paper.

Btw: The examiners at our skool were VERY nice, they gave TT the paper each time and seemed really friendly and cute, I wanted to hug the old guys.

Good to hear you did well. Have you checked your paper 2 solutions against TT's? Because it'd be good for you to do so, just so you get a bit of peace of mind - there are just a few questions you have to ignore or amend (but I've listed that a page or so ago)! :)

Forgot to label each "branch" of the derivative graph (i.e 6-2x and -6-2x); wrote n=8 without years; forgot to find SD to 2 decimal places; and left the last question as t=8 hrs instead of finding time. How many marks off? 4, or could the examiners be generous with some?  :)
I believe that all owners of dogs should be legally bound to pick up their canine's waste materials while walking them intrusively through society's streets. If they do not abide to this law, then imprisonment or deportation or conscription to the military would be warranted.

For your 3 cases:
* Labelling branch - they will probably/most likely let you off
* SD - no, they specifically said 2 dp (or at least in the non-CAS paper they specified so)
* Time - you will not get an answer mark (I don't think CAS had a working mark for that question...)

k guys few of questions. for the 0.99 question i did inverse norm 0.99 not 0.995 etc. didnt even think about the 'middle' region. do i lose all marks or 1, if my following up was correct? also for the equation of the 2nd last part of last question i said 6-t, do i get carried over marks if everything else was correct? and for the derivative graph did we have to label each part or not?

Lastly, i know u guys r frustrated because people keep dong this but its my first time. if i got medium a+ on sacs without scaling, 39/40 exam 1. 75-76/80 exam 2, what r my chances of getting 48-50?

thanks in advance :D

You could lose 3 marks last year to get 50.

And considering people say this year is a lot harder, I'd say 48 might be possible.

Chance of 50? very low to none
Chance of 48? I would say low-medium, depending on the weather and how well the cohort performs.

Doubt it Sac wise, but exam 1 for 2009 was probs same difficulty as 08, exam 2 I think may be a little harder than 08
