I doubt you would lose marks.

What was your answer for the other 3 step questions: collection and storage. that was a bit open ended too...

Hmm that one.
1. Privacy policy must be signed so the user understands what information is being used for
2. Manager checks information to see it is accurate and timely ( car insurance )
3. Information is stored onto a fileserver which is password protected, only authorised users can access.

This question could be answered many different ways, just justify and be reasonable.

Read only I said if I can recall

1. Right click, properties uncheck read only
2. Make changes to document and save as the guysnamewinners.doc
3. repeat step one, except check box and email to coaches.

Similar: Step 1 same, step 2 edit and save, step 3 send (I didn;t make it read only again, but it wasn't really a component of the question)

That's what I got, well similar anyway.

I was actually confused atfirst because another efficient way is just to resave the document as a different file and edit it. I think this is more efficient

Yes. I said inform the client how their information will be used, store it securely to prevent unauthorized access blah blah, but I can't remmeber  what point 3 was...

I did:

1) Open winners.doc in MS Word
2) Go to File -> Save As
3) Enter a new name, and location and press save.

which also works (just tested it  :))

I don't see how markers will check the functionality of everyone suggestion...they'll just mark it right for being clear and simple.

For the read only question i said that he should copy the file just in case he may accidentally overwrite it if he edits the original. is that acceptable?

my it teacher has always said that any answer can be correct as long as you explain yourself and you have a valid arguement!

so dont be frusturated if u wrote a different answer, as long as your answer is justified correctly it should get marks!

I went down the same path (file, save as; edit document as save; email to coaches)
It isn't wrong, so i'd presume it'll get awarded marks. =D

I didn't place the \\coaches server bit and just started at \images because it didn't really specify a server name.  also did forward slashes instead of  backslashes, not sure if that'll make much difference when it comes to marking of the exam :s
