The hotel one I said changes in job specification to reflect the new skills and knowledge that would be required when working at a 5 star hotel, e.g.: hospitality qualifications etc.

My second one was job description, Winston Hotels would have to change their job descriptions as the duties and tasks associated with operating 5 star hotels would be different to that of operating a 3 star hotel, e.g.: increased focus on delivering high standards of customer service.

woah was it that damn.

i wrote they should conduct a job analysis which is the process of evaluating the current skills and qualifications to assist in accurate recruitment and selection of staff because it allows them to update their current job descriptions and specifications. I then defined what those are, applied it.

a second way is by conducting interviews which allows the employers to determine whether the applicant is suitable for the organisation in terms of social attitude as well as fitting into the organisations corporate culture. defined that as well. applied the wilton hotels scenario.

4 marks?

Remember how ever that I think there can be more then one strategy that can be applied to these type of questions. As long it's a HR strategy (anything within the employment cycle is considered a strategy), and you relate it back to the case study and how your going to solve the problem, you should be fine.

ok that question pissed me off because out of the 10+ practice exams i did i never had a question that chose the management roles for me, and i never use controlling in my examples so there goes maybe a couple marks on crap. you probably got the full marks but i included having to create strategies in my planning and performance appraisals ect.
