Their degrees sound so much cooler than ours!!

Classics and Modern Languages
English Language and Literature
English Language and Modern Languages
History and Modern Languages (see the pattern yet? :P)
Modern Languages
Philosophy and Modern Languages

Not music - would much rather go to Juilliard (I can always dream... :()

I thought the list were majors, not degree titles.
nah, those are bachelor degrees

Probably the PPE. I think it's odd that the only way you can do Anthropology is by mixing it with Archeology but I'd consider that too.

I'd consider for postgrad. It's too expensive for non-citizens unless you have a scholarship.

I feel like Homer when he drools.

I would take either Classics or (the best sounding course ever) Classical Archaeology and Ancient History.
Oh man. It looks so good.
Following in Pa's footsteps? ;) (He did Classics there after his Bachelor in Aucklund, I think.)
P.S. How did you go in your exams?

 What would you do?
I'd do either: History, History and Politics, History and English, Philosophy and Modern Languages or Philosophy, Politics and Economics (what all the politicians do).

I suggested on another thread /0 (and other Arts and Science types) might like Mathematics and Philosophy, or Physics and Philosophy, which both include a 'bridging subject' serving to relate the two disciplines.

  http://www.ox.ac.uk/admissions/undergraduate_courses/courses/index.html
Mathematics or Mathematics and Statistics.

But MIT is better :P
And University of Chicago is even better ;) Well, for graduate maths, at least.

I would do this:
http://www.maths.cam.ac.uk/postgrad/mathiii/
Though admittedly it's at Cambridge, not Oxford (obviously since Cambridge >>> Oxford for Natural Sciences).

Um... my latin exam I think I messed up a little. Greek was okay. Ancient History was better, but I nearly died from the heat in the Sports Hall.

Oh, and the fire alarm went off for five minutes in my Latin exam and we weren't allowed to leave. Just like my maths exam in year 12 :)

I'd love to go to Cambridge, MIT or Caltech for my undergraduate degree, but it'd be way too expensive because of the lack of scholarships for international undergraduates. On top of that, it's also really hard to gain entrance to MIT as an international student - you pretty much need to be on the national team for one of the sciences/maths (or win a lot of other major prizes), and simply looking at the number of students eligible for selection, at the moment I only have a 5/24 chance of going to the IPhO and a 8/24 (=1/3) chance of attending APhO (provided that Australia sends a team).

:( I guess I'll just go there for a postgraduate degree *fingers crossed to get in*.

If I went to Oxford, I'd probably want to do the Classics and English undergrad degree.  :p

Not applying though, since I definitely can't afford it.  Hopefully a postgraduate degree over there, though.

still, not as bad (for ppl coming over from Australia) as it was a few years ago, when £1 came to >$2.50, (possibly it was as high as $3.00 at one point)

There's no real point for undergrad - US universities in particular aren't great for undergrad, as like Melbourne they have a breadth-styled education, which makes it difficult to do as much advanced subjects in one area.

And first-class honours should get you in to pretty much any university, for Masters at least - some (mostly American) unis require a Masters before PhD, as they don't really have honours there.

It's still, like, 40,000 pounds or something of that order.
Less, I think. I looked up the Cambridge prices for a year, and all up it was about 23,000 pounds or something. Either way, still ridiculously expensive. Of course, there are plenty of scholarships out there that cover some or all of that.
