Hey, was wondering if anyone knows which summer school is better ~ TSFX or TSSM ~ for  MM, chem , Physics BM or English
Or
Is it really just better to go through the stuff at home?

thanks :)

I have only been to Winter school programs(term 2 holidays also was TSSM) for MM and BM unit 4, now I don't really see a need for either of these personally as I the time is too short to derive much benefit from the teacher, the notes were good but for maths there can't really be any more notes than a textbook gives, and there are magnificent notes for BM here http://notes.vcenotes.com/?step=downloader&download=236 [shinnys notes, these are all I used to revise]

I also went for chemistry, it was alright a tad confusing but did help in class from recognition. If I had 'kept the knowledge alive'/[not ignored Chem] the benefit would have been many times greater. The lecture for chem was good though the teacher was a bit boring also the notes were really good they covered the course well, I used them lots.

These were good as they forced me to study, though I could've covered more by myself except for chemistry :buck2:

So these programs are only really beneficial for revision not as a headstart? Coz the way i see it is, it would be really hard to learn new concepts in the time they give. I also heard that alot of cramming goes on during the summer ones? Just wanna know so i dont waste craploads of money for nothing ;)
Thanks for the feedaback :D

You'll forget everything they say after you go home. I suggest either a tutor or do it yourself or give up and let yourself learn at school.

yep that was so true when i did chem at tsfx summer school early this year. they even skipped some of the questions and the later pages in the books (they give you 3 from memory), and you won't remember most of the stuff anyway... its better to learn the stuff yourselves first and ask your teacher at school if you dont understand anything.

how about learning the course and then going to summer school as a revision type thing or is that very unnecessary?

These companies do not emphasize the basics enough, they jump all over the place - a very disorganized way of teaching.
