Hi guys, I'm doing Commerce and I was wondering what to fill my gaps with in second year. Can you do Level 3 subjects in second year and is there a restriction on what you can do or how many you can do? I was thinking of get rid of my overloaded 3rd year (entry to diplang = overload). Can you like do Econometrics/Macroeconomics/Microeconomics and stuff like that in second year or is that really not reccommended? Thanks

Ken

You can do it as long you meet the pre-requisites.

Yeah you can only do Level 3 subjects if you've completed the pre-requisities, which are usually Level 2 subjects. Pretty sure you won't be able to do Econometrics (Requires Intro Econometrics or QM2), Micro (requires Intermediate Micro) or Macro (requires Intermediate Macro) because you won't have completed those units in brackets.

All information regarding pre-requisities is available in the handbook (www.unimelb.edu.au/handbook), but as long as you meet those you can do as many Level 3 subjects as you want (to my knowledge).

EDIT: Typo.
