Australian or international fee place:
Note that guaranteed fee places will be limited by the number of fee places available in the course in the year of entry.

But wouldn't there be so many people with 99+? Also, that means you are always insecure of your guarantee for the whole 3 years!!

I never quite understood it either. There's 300 places, not all of them are going to guaranteed places, so what the hell? As stated, they're subject to availability so perhaps the fine print there will actually be  a significant barrier for once.

You should be doing GAMSAT either way to avoid having to pay full-fee.

I believe you are ranked on GPA+Gamsat then they dish out interviews accordingly. So if you get a better GPA, then the gamsat score required is less to get an interview. Keep in mind the website says you need a GPA around 5.5 to 6.0 to qualify.
My Subjects:
2006 I.T Systems --> 42
2007 English --> 40
         Methods --> 41
         Spec --> 38
         Chem --> 36
         Physics --> 37
         Unimaths --> 5.5

ENTER: 97.35

honestly, to be competitive you'd need a GPA of around 6.5, it'd be highly unlikely with just a 5.5

As a rough guide, you need a GPA of about 6.5 or more and a GAMSAT score of 60 or more to have a good chance of getting a place. Having a higher GAMSAT score will allow you to get in with a lower GPA.

err, its better to think of it like
average H1's is about a GPA of 7 (perfect gpa), which is around 80%+
and averaging H2A's is a GPA of around 6.5, which is around 75%+

That makes sense. So as long as you average 80% you have a 'perfect' GPA?

yes a GPA of 7.0 is equivalent to average of 80%+ over your 3- year course including breadth.
