I know someone doing nuclear medicine, this is what he said:
Quote
Radiography relies on machines generating radiation to create images on films
Nucmed is the reverse, the radiation is given to the patient and is detected by a 'camera'
Radiography also uses a different wavelength of EMR (xrays) where as nucmed relies on gamma rays
Radiography focuses moreso on the anatomy where as nuc med mostly looks at physiology

you get paid more as a radiographer, its less demanding, and easier to find a job

Also, he says:
Quote
It might be worth considering doing radiation therapy. It is an demand profession atm, whereas nucmed is suffering severe job losses
Radiography is an evergreen area, jobs are bountiful

Apparently he means you are more likely to get a job if you do radiography, as compared to nuclear medicine. Don't ask me why, I don't know anything about it :P
