I thought this deserves a thread because I doubt one has already been made and I think whatever response I would get if I emailed him would be useful for everyone.

I've heard all these anecdotes about insane amounts of work that TT did over the holidays? Finished almost all the heineman chemistry questions and finished most of the methods course am I right? There's probably much more.

how did you do it?

I'm interested too. Especially in how he managed to finish the Spesh course in 1.5 weeks. An insane achievement :)

lol anyone can do it if they have enough passion. I just loved maths that's it, there's not much to it, if you love something then you do it heaps and the time flies. I didn't like Chem and Physics too much so they took much longer.

This guy is really something.

Check this out (http://vcenotes.com/forum/index.php/topic,19896.0.html). Basically after exams this guy tackled maths that (hopefully) I'll see in second year.

TT is ultra fast at learning (spesh and methods in 2 weeks - also learning maths at a much more advanced level straight after exams) His use of mathematical notation is very good (like I mean in VCE a lot of people don't worry about being formal in a maths problem). This guy is definately a pure mathematician.

If anyone wants a role model this is your guy! I have been so motivated I'm starting to review my first year physics (pace of subject was really quick and having the time to start from the beggining is really cool).

2008: Finished VCE

2009 - 2011: Bachelor of Science (Mathematical Physics)

2012 - 2014: Master of Science (Applied Mathematics/Mathematical Physics)

2016 - 2018: Master of Engineering (Civil)

Semester 1:[/b] Engineering Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics, Engineering Risk Analysis, Sustainable Infrastructure Engineering

Semester 2:[/b] Earth Processes for Engineering, Engineering Materials, Structural Theory and Design, Systems Modelling and Design

Lolz, barely any of the stuff in that thread is "traditional" uni maths, so I'd say it's pretty unlikely that you'd see it ;)

Approximately 14-15 hours a day back in the summer.

Have been doing it for problem solving maths before results day, the last 3 days I've been bludging around a bit.

Given your standards, what exactly does 'bludging' entail? 10 hours a day? =\ I think I only averaged 3 hours a day or so even during the year...

You will learn generating functions in Enumerative Combinatorics, Honours subject. Generalized binomial theorem will be covered in an analysis course. Bezout's lemma would be covered in 3rd year Number Theory, but it's not running anymore since Number Theory is not important.

Number Theory is important, I'm guessing just like a lot of subjects it's been moved to masters.

I do like it. I was being cynical, thought it's removal meant uom doesn't think it is important.
