unlucky :( I thought all exams were marked twice? would be pretty jibbed for two exam markers to mark the same questions wrong

If you get it remarked is there any chance that you get lower than what your supposed to? Or they just check the questions you complained and they will have a look at those only?

I was wondering this too... Also, what do they mean by "an objective factual error"? This is what's required to gain reassessment but it's a very loose term, anyone want to guess/know what it means?

It's also possible that when marking the paper they accidentally skipped that question/page. One of our best english students last year only got around a 28 for English. He got a statement of marks and turned out they only marked 1 of his essays. I'm not sure if he tried to get those extra marks and his score changed but yeah it's something that does happen

Oh, honestly! How could they do that! That's horrendous  >:(

As with VCAA's anomalous grade check, as well as any check applied through the Derived Exam Score process, reassessment could potentially see your grade increase, but never drop.

Won't people just go for a inspection and just say you want to check all your wrong answers and try pull a few marks?

It says your PRINCIPLE has to SIGN and agree, you need to have a strong case.

I remember my statement said "if your principle/school believes you would have performed better" or something along those lines, and trust me not everyone gives a hoot about their VCE, let alone want to pay money.

But yeah, I considered doing it, but come on, TWO examiners mark, what are the chances both are "rigged" or "wrong", in addition I scored BETTER than I thought, so no complaints :)

Principal only signs if you want to have the inspection at school, not at VCAA

i spoke to vcaa today, i need to have my psych teacher inspect with me and then for her afterwards to opt to get it remarked. then have it signed my principle for approval, then i can possibly do it after writing a personal statement. it is quite difficult to do, it is not possible to have it done if you just think you did badly. only in situations worse than mine (and hopefully mine but i'll find out soon)

As with VCAA's anomalous grade check, as well as any check applied through the Derived Exam Score process, reassessment could potentially see your grade increase, but never drop.

oh awesome i didn't know that. i got slightly worried that they'd find some problem with some of my other answers or something >_>

Haha yes - the beautiful thing is that it's all designed to protect you, rather than be of hindrance.

Won't people just go for a inspection and just say you want to check all your wrong answers and try pull a few marks?

No, an inspection is purely you in a room with a photocopy of your paper so you can check out what you did/didn't do. It's an objective viewing of the exam, that's all. It would scarcely result in further discussion unless it's a "OH DEAR LORD THIS ISNT MY EXAM!" kinda thing.

How did you go?

The assessors reports will shed some light.
