Physiotherapy to medicine transfer?

Ok so here goes.
At the moment I'm kind of torn between doing medicine and physiotherapy at university.
Currently I have health science/physiotherapy practice at La Trobe as my number 1 preference...so that's what I'll be doing next year.
So I was just wondering...if I wanted to do medicine in the future, what options would I have that allow me to transfer from physiotherapy to medicine after 1 or 2 years?

I don't know if you need my ENTER or not, but I got 99.25 studying PE, biology, chemistry, further, english language and business management.

Any help would be appreciated, cheers.

ENTER: 99.25

well the majority of med schools don't do transfers.
and once you start any degree, monash undergrad excludes you completely.

you can either:
*still apply for a few interstate uni's after 1 or 2 years, using your GPA of those years in conjunction with your umat score & interview. for example, if you apply to UNSW after one year, they include both your ENTER and GPA (50/50), so for people you didn't do so well in their enter can boost it up with a high GPA (also a low GPA can pull your score down even if you got 99.xx)
*or when you finish your physio undergrad, apply for all the graduate unis (including monash grad and melb grad) using your full GPA of your degree. its quite competitive.
goodluck:)

Thanks for that mate.
Unfortunately I'm not too keen on travelling interstate so that rules out that first option lol.
The second option sounds pretty good though...what are the lengths of the Melbourne and Monash graduate medicine courses?
Thanks

Congratulations on your ENTER, good job. Ok, so you want to study med, you've got a few options.
You can try and transfer out of the course to med at a few unis. You'll know that some med schools dont take people with a tertiary education (monash, uadel- who only take internal transfers). But there are other unis (UNSW, UWA, UTAS, JCU, Newcastle and some others that skip my mind) that would take you. You have to have a competitve GPA (6+ is pretty competitive) and you'll also have to have an alright UMAT. The UMAT for UTAS non-standard was ~170 (as they dont favour local applicants in tertiary transfers), and the GPA was ~6.2. Remeber that JCU doesnt need UMAT, and the selection was application form and a minimum GPA of 5.75.

Ok, that's after 1 or 2 years. You just gotta keep trying. Now, if you havnt transfered out by 2nd yr, I'd reccomend that you sit the GAMSAT and try it post graduate. You'll be post grad after 3 years (with the non-accredited bachelor degree) so you can try both undergrad (UMAT) and post grad (GAMSAT).

You've got a heap of options, but yeh, just not monash or uadel. If ive missed a uni, let me know

they are both four years, usually taken after completing a 3 year bachelor's degree. but if you do physio, you have to complete the whole 4 or so year course to be able to apply for graduate med
