Finishing the courses over Summer is possible, if you are willing to do it. Try and get motivated through gaining or tricking yourself into gaining an interest for all the subjects, especially if English work only requires watching a film and reading books (nothing bad about some light summer reading).

Lol one more thing, there is less than a year to go before your 2010 Unit 3/4 end-of-year exams. It's always good to get a head start on things, however you do it, whether its reading books, surfing the web for related material (VN is perfect for this) or just reading some English essays, doing some methods problems in your head and try not to forget the stuff learnt in 1/2, etc.

Hope this helps just a tiny bit. :)

lmao i had no idea it turned into an "UN-motivational thread"

As for your motivation, try this - make a schedule for tomorrow, i.e. allocate hours of the day to do a specific task, e.g. 1pm-2:30pm Specialist Chapter 1. Don't make your work sessions too long (1-2 hours max), and make sure you specify exactly what you're going to do.

just think next year this time you will be free of vce..
its only one year, not even, of your life and if you prepare early you give yourself the best chance of doing the best you can!

I did the chem unit 3 over the course of 3 weeks. of course i didnt work everyday. some days i did 2-3 hours some days nothing to 20minutes.

Really, anywork you do now will be beneficial. Even if you think you cant do it all, just do the first 1-2 chapters so that you will still be ahead of your class. then perhaps when school starts and you snap out of holiday mode you willl be keen to get ahead.

I know the feeling. i gunned it at the start of the holidays with chem and physics, and now my social life has intervened and i've been unable to start methods, so my plans have changed from doing unit 3 to simply doing the first 5 chapters which is basically yr 11 revision (functions etc.) which i will hop;efully start in the new year

The hardest part is starting. I didnt really like 1/2 physics, but i guess i never really gave it a chance and it rode backseat to my two 3/4's last year, but when i strated i got really into it and motivation wasnt a problem at all.

The same for chem. once i started i was loving doing the stoich stuff which is my fave. Some of the heavily theory based stuff eg. spectroscopy caused me to lose a bit of motivation but then i just thought that just giving it a light read over and doing a few questions certainly cant do any harm and can only help when to understand it when it arises in the classroom

Please motivate me :(!!

Make a bet with one of your friends. Tell them if you get lower than 40 for a subject you have to pay them money (make it a large amount). The fear of losing this money (or other precious thing if you wish) will make you study more and motivate you. :)

Extrinsic motivation fails for things like this. If you cant use intrinsic motivation then maybe you just dont want it...

The spectroscopy is a killer! Especially NMR

^ I'm not up to it yet but I doubt it will be, it'll just take 10-30 minutes of making a random mind-map and sketches to understand.

questions are easy to do. NMR are real fun as you get like a graph and draw molecules with the info.
But im not entirely how in depth my knowledge of the techniques and intstruments needs to be.

but yeah, i find the interpretation question surprisingly quite fun and relatively easy
