"Equivalent National Tertiary Entrance Rank" doesn't sound specific to Victoria, so I think it should be used everywhere!

ATAR - Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank

Sounds too broad and general in my opinion.  Also, "Equivalent National Tertiary Entrance Rank" sounds more pro.

They both sound the same, but ENTER sounds wayy more fitting. Why do they have to change it after people have said ENTER for so many years? GRR!!

ENTER is cleverer. It's an acronym, and it allows you to 'enter' tertiary studies, so it's a nice play on words.

But ENTER makes more sense, allows you to enter into your preferred Uni course...(punishable I know).

Isn't ATAR also some sort of video game company? My memory's a bit hazy but I remember in my early PS2 playing years seeing the symbol saying it somewhere.
