My 2 cents on this matter.

VCE maths is about recognising rote questions or applying knowledge from rote questions. Comp maths is more like: Here is one tiny bit of knowledge, now I want you to make the logic leap equivalent to the chasm between Earth and the Sun to solve them.

In regards to the extended response, I spend all my time on them then the last few mins on the multi choice, randomly picking some as I go. This is the best technique I've found anyways....
2009: Math methods: 50, Psychology: 44
2010: chem 47, further 48, Spesh 49 fml seriously and other yr 11 subs.
2011: Holidaying, screw school.

Well that's the thing. I don't think I want to be studying comp stuff to do well in a comp... for what reason other than pure massive vanity? (oh, and a sparkling resume?)

You don't really get much money from comps lol, I only won at most $200 altogether.
