What is required for uni? Stationery wise

So I'm starting uni at the start of march, but my combined tafe course starts in the 1st week of february, so I'm wondering what stationery is pretty much required for tafe/uni?

Is it just all the general crap, as well as maybe those 4 subject notebooks?

Also, what sort of bags are best for this sort of thing?

Yes i know, I like planning what stationery i'll need :)

thanking you in advance!

well even though i'm only doing one uni subject (and it depend on what subject your doing)..
they told us we need for chem:
- prescribed textbook
- two matching notebooks
- pens, rulers, ect..

so yeah it's the same as school.
but in lectures at uni i was considering using my macbook to take notes.

I personally used a lot of loose leaf paper and paperclips. All note taking was done on the lecture notes/practical manuals themselves.

Depends on your course. If it's maths based then keeping your CAS would be handy. If not, maybe a scientific calculator would be enough for a "just in case" sort of thing.

Atm, girls tend to use giant handbags and guys use backpacks.

I recommend a four-pen (colour is useful), loose-leaf paper, a four-subject notebook (get the type with the perforated edge so it's easy to tear pages out), and binder folders (or some way of keeping all your lecture slides and loose leaf paper together at home).

I'm sure other uni peeps will suggest slightly different stuff, but once you get a feel for it you'll realise yourself what works for you and what doesn't.

<3 Bic Four-Pen.
I'm unsure why anyone wouldn't want to use it. I think everyone in my school has at least one. Hah.

Because they are too thick and round. And they have too many colours.

I roam the academia with... whatever crap pen I can find in the bottom of my draw. It's the ideas that are important :)

I get:

- Lecture books (or those single subject books with the spiral back) for each subject tear out paper is good for handwritten assignments
- Grey leads
- high lighters
- four lots of four pens (colours are great) & I have this crazy thing where I must have two on me atleast.
- Scissors (for pracs)
- Gluestick (for pracs)
- ruler
- Display folders (to store printed out lecture notes in)
- Stapler (assignments)
- Pencil case (sounds geeky, but it's useful)
- Scientific calculator

That's it for stationery.

As for textbooks, you should attend your introductory lectures and find out what you absolutely need. Textbooks = $$$

As for bags I use a backpack.

I love stationery planning. :)

Because the blue and black runs out a lot quicker and then it isn't four-colour anymore :(

Pen and paper, I'd recommend loose-leaf in a binder because you tend to take a lot of random notes on random bits of paper, so it's easier to organise that way
Dictionary (if you can afford it I would buy a big proper Collins/Oxford one which you leave at home for assignments/essays, and then a smaller "pocket" one to bring to tutorials)
Whatever required textbooks

I don't think I'll be bringing "massive loads of books" because I won't be buying them until I go to the first (few) lecture(s) of each subject.
