0.100g P  (.228-.1=)0.128g O

Find n(P) and n(O)
divide by the smallest figure

And then you'll have a mol ratio of
x : 1

and times both sides by a number to get both of them as close to a full number... and voila empirical formula.

what is mg^-1. is it mol/gram.

The question is asking is the sulfur dioxide level in the sample more than the government authorised level of 250mg^-1
