okay and another problem is the money, i heard that u need to pay over $40,000 without government support all by yourself for medicine every year, is this true?

hehe nah unless its international or full-fee it's roughly 4k~8k per year (CSP) same as most other degrees.

^ i wouldn't know exactly sorry.

i would say getting 99.95 is harder ahha cos only 20~30 people out of the whole vce can get that. whereas lots ore could get a good GPA:) i think if you studied hard, getting a 6+ wont be that difficult.
hey whats a 6 equal to in terms of average marks?

roughly ~70% at melbourne, it may seem low but it's much more difficult than one would think.

Not too late to apply for a irregular offer for science at Melb, and do a graduate med.

transfer into biomed during your science degree, or do honours or something and apply for med again.
that way you can always go into medical research if all fails.

EDIT: You're not allowed to overload during the teaching semesters. You're not even allowed to start the commerce component. Summer units may be possible but the problem is finding an anatomy unit from any other uni being offered during that time. I have a feeling the UoM CAP thing doesn't actually have any anatomy units accessible, you'd have to do some research (look into RMIT, LaTrobe, etc).

Oh really? I never knew you couldn't overload in that degree?
And yeah there aren't any anatomy programs run in summer semester at monash or melb, i'd be highly doubtful that the others have any too.
hmm just looked it up again: http://www.pharm.monash.edu.au/students/undergrad/policy/overload.html
I wonder what kind of 'special circumstances' they accept. If trying to get into graduate medicine is a good reason by their books, then yeah, it might be possible? Except really, 5 units in a semester with your pharmacy workload is really pushing it. You're also probably going to have heaps of clashes depending on which other uni's anatomy unit you take.

Some suggestions, totally unsure which ones you would be able to enrol in:
Monash University second semester, DEV2022 Principles of organ and body design
RMIT first semester (through short courses), BIOL2280 Human Structure and Function
University of Melbourne first semester (through CAP), 516210 Principles of Human Structure
If you find one that's offered in summer semester, then that would be your best option. But yeah, I wouldn't get your hopes up since the course is quite restrictive.

No probs, hope you're enjoying pharm o-week if you're still in it! I'm high off weet-bix still.

By the way, for overloading you'll have to meet with the Academic and Student Services manager:

Hello toothpaste again, I've just finished my first day it's just basically year 12 biology and stuff. I just checked the prerequistes on the actual melbourne graduate medicine page http://www.medicine.unimelb.edu.au/future/selection.html and i realized that the units "PAC1132 Systems physiology" and "PAC2151 Biochemistry and molecular biology" are accepted prerequiste subjects for graduate medicine at melbourne. Now having known this, I eagerly went to look for schools that offer the anatomy course hopefully in monash. So the one you offered to me was the
"Monash University second semester, DEV2022 Principles of organ and body design". I tried enrolling in this just then but the "Monash WES" said I had breached a rule.

Here it is:
ERROR submitting enrolment form

DEV2022 - Please refer to the handbook or consult your Faculty. Rule breach unit DEV2022 ============================== Student has not satisfied a pre-requisite (institution wide) for unit DEV2022 - has not passed a pre-requisite unit.

Remove this unit from the enrolment form and submit again.

I promptly checked the course out and found it had a lot of prerequisties such as the DEV2011 and even for that you need one of BIO1011, BIO1022, BMS1021 or equivalent. Does this mean I have to start at BIO1011 to slowly make my way up to DEV2022? And even then will they let me? Thanks for your help I'm really eager to get out of pharmacy and into medicine [=

Nice try but you can't add units in pharmacy that way. PAC units are linked to each other but not directly linked to other Monash units even though they can be made equivalent to each other (for example CHM1011 and CHM1022 = physicochem and organic chem [sem 1]). The only way to get extra units into your course is to appeal to the faculty to let you overload (all your default units actually make up the max amount of credit points normally allowed). Overloads are rare and you'd have to talk to the lady I mentioned in my last post above. I reckon physiology satisfies biology requirements, but you'd have to ask for extra units to be added into your course.

It seriously would've been easier to do biomedicine/science to avoid all this appealing issue.

I missed biomedicine at melbourne this year by 0.05 enter so bad luck to me there. Science would have been a waste of my intense studying over the course of year 12. I'm at campus now, i'll go appeal and see how it goes.

It's generally better to finish one semester (even better to have a year) then appeal for an overload to show you can obtain high marks, which makes them believe you can handle 5 units in a semester. But nevertheless good luck with it!
