How to make uni waive pre-req requirements?

 Hi, I'm David
I'd quite like to do Economics at uni but don't satisfy the pre-reqs [20 in methods or further. Eco is a recent intrest of mine hence why I didn't take maths in yr 12] However, I know the % in exams required for an SS of 20 is ridiculously low, something like 10-20%, which I could easily attain if I sat a methods paper tomorrow.
  So do I talk nice to the people that matter, tell them of my passion for eco, how I am perfectly competent at the relevant mathematics?

You might be able to do a bridging course. Or even study further or methods alongside whatever course you're doing now. Unfortunately, unis like to have evidence of your competency, they rarely rely on your word (although give it a shot, by all means).

which uni is this course at? If it's for Monash, you might be able to go to Monash College, which is something akin to a bridging course I believe.

  Thx for the replies. I'm doing Arts @unilatrobe btw. [We're only allowed one subject per semester that isn't strictly humanities -kinda the opposite of unimelb after Growing Esteem.]
   Does anyone know what would happen if I tried to surreptitiously enrol in Intro Micro or Intro Macro, through a "variation of enrolment"?

Is maths a prerequisite for economics at LaTrobe? If not then it should be fine.
