Gah. I read that PDF and it says I have to do some English test? BAHFAIL

If your raw scores for one of those English subjects were in those ranges, then yes.  But the faculty of science should have contacted you about it.

I did this last year.

Looks like the biggest waste of time for local students who grew up and were educated here...

Yeah well I got a 26 raw in English.. but they haven't contacted me? How were they meant to contact me?

I'm guessing that's the Sports Centre, near the Athletics track.

The penalties are:

1.  You won't get a guided tour of UoM's Parkville campus
2.  You won't get the opportunity to meet other people doing the same course as you before Week 1 begins
3.  You won't get insight into life at uni from an older student

If those 3 things aren't important, then wag it.  :P

Some bits of sarcasm was intended in this post, especially the sentence above this.  In reality, no real penalties apply.

EDIT:  But otherwise, yes, I would highly recommend you attend.

I didn't attend in first year. Nothing happens.
