Free Periods - How Many Do You Have [Poll]

I was talking to my friend from another school and to my horror i discovered she has 10 free periods.

I only have 2 [50 minute free periods] per week...maybe this is because theyre forcing me to take RE, so im technically doing 6 subjects.

Anyway post how many free periods you have and maybe have a bit of a rant. [Also how long each period is, thanks kenhung]

Edit: At my school we finish @ lunch time every wednesday, so we miss out on two more periods, changed my vote to 4

I should point out my RE is only a semester long, so next semester when its gone, ill have somewhere in the area of 7-8 frees.

An important point is how long the periods are too.

I have either 11 or 15 40 minute frees per week, depending on my subject choice.

That's hell, I have 14 1 hour long free periods a fortnight because of UMEP studies. Plus 7 other periods which are not classes but either SAC periods (go home early if don't have one on), assembly period or RE periods.

The rest are classes. Pretty much everyday I have a study.

I have 10 frees of 50 minutes each... but I do have a violin lesson in one, so I only have 9 in which I can study/go home/sleep.

I get 7 free periods (a period goes for 75 minutes and there are 4 periods in a day) apart from once every 3 weeks where I'll have 6 free periods instead.

Also we're supposed to take up 'electives' during our free periods like cooking, fitness, a non-assessed subject etc. etc. since supposedly no one studies during their spares. But I get nerd privileges so I actually have proper spares, hurrah.

It used to be 6 49 minute periods a day but we have a new principal who decided to change everything.

At our school its compulsory to do 5 subjects. (5 periods each, 5 days/week)
So technically we shouldn't get any frees at all....

BUT
I did a 3&4 last year and had a sook to my co-ordinators so i got a subject off....

one is on monday first lesson tho and another is on friday last lesson score!

10 per week - 8 of them are 45 minutes, 2 of them are 80

Edit: Actually varies from 8 to 10, since I have 7-day cycles rather than weekly ones.

5 a week, 50 minutes each, one day has two in a row, my hardest day of the week has none...eh...

They are fun though, I love finishing off school work...at school...

8 75 minute ones a fortnight. Theyre at good times too so I have a few early finishes and late starts. Only a couple of them are p2 or p3.

I think they're great. Everyone at school is knuckling down this year. I remember last year having frees and no one did anything just talked. This year though everyone's switched on to Year 12 and I'm finding that I'm gettting so much study and work done during the frees.
