Some Questions

Hi,

Alright so I deferred from a course at RMIT this year to work full time (I do intend to go to uni but this job was too good to pass up). Now that I've had some time to sit down and think about things I have some questions I'd like to ask.

1. I am entertaining the thought of transferring to Monash to do a double degree (Science / Computer Science) but I have absolutely no idea if that is even possible or anything heh.
2. When should I start looking into getting into the course at Monash? I imagine around the same time as the year 12's do? Around August?
3. I live around an hour from the outskirts of North Melbourne to getting to Clayton campus will take a good 2 hour drive, so I am looking at getting accommodation there, but as #1 I have absolutely no idea about that either heh.
4. Is Monash the same as UoM in terms of you pick BSc then you choose your major in the second year or whatever? I would really like to major in maths but I haven't been extremely good at maths (just really like it) so what's my chances?

Basically if you can't answer any of those questions, when and who do I call to start getting it all sorted out? Reason I have these questions is I don't want to be too late and I remember reading something about applying to accommodation around the middle of the year if you want to stay for an entire academic year

Cheers :)

If I were you I'd rock up to Monash personally and have a good ol' chat with someone. They'll take you more seriously and it'll just be easier. You've got heaps of times thats why I recommend you take this route.

Good luck! And out of interest whats the job? Stripper? ;)

Heh yeah I thinking about doing that, it was either a phone call or going in person (it's a 4 hour round trip so I don't wanna rock up and talk to the wrong person or whatever)

lol nah I got offered the position of doing web development with a company I sent in a resume with.

1) I don't think you can transfer without an academic transcript (though there might be some VTAC way of applying as non-year-12, I'm not sure on that).

2) Enquire as soon as possible to be safe.

3)
4) I can only answer this if you're doing arts or law :P what course are you doing?

Thanks for that Ninwa, I might look into heading down ASAP.

As for the degree it was Bachelor of Science / Bachelor of Computer Science which is handled by the Science faculty
