I did mine today, in a nutshell, we were trying to see the effect pH had on the enzyme catalase (which breaks down hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen gas). As controls, we placed hydrogen peroxide in 5 test tubes and placed various buffer solutions in, pH 1,4,7,9 and 14. As experimentals, we placed liver cubes (yum...>.<) into 5 test tubes, placed the various pH solutions in (actually we placed the solutions before we put in the liver

), put the stoppers on the test tubes for 3 minutes, and then we placed hydrogen peroxide in to see how it would react. I didn't like how my class did it as we weren't very accurate with our measurements of our pH solutions and hydrogen peroxide, the teacher said to put in "2cm" of each :| So the results came out flawed... sigh
