Outcome is pretty much a SAC but some schools choose to split the outcome into several sections which makes each SAC only worth a proportion of the outcome.

Exactly...I mean its worth 5 marks, but when you do the percentages..the exact value is ~1/200

My chemistry teacher said we use to do this prac at my school but we stopped.

Mainly due to the difficulty of it being back titration and the fact you wont be able to collect all the precipitate and it would take ages too..

he's lucky then ...

Yeah.. they let us take them home haha...
We can ask anyone for help etc.. even her kinda haha!
We also do an in class test which these two assessments (the test and the report) are 50% of the mark for the outcome I think.

>.< Today we had to do a whole experiment + questions afterwards in a single 80 minute period.

its surprising that the dates of when people do this prac from different schools vary greatly. our school fifnsihed this prac a week or 2 ago. i thought it was hard. but the thing is copy down the obsevations and draw pretty understadable tables (with all the titres calcualted already (saves time in the sac NOTE: i should have done this)) and the formulas u need to know from my expreience is already on the prac sheet at the bottom bit. If not...that explains my 79% on my sac .:L

Andrew's report is pretty good. The only things I would add in the discussion is the reasoning behind adding the HCl and heating the solution.
Also the other small thing is, I wouldn't write out the materials/method. To me, it seems like a waste of paper and it doesn't display understanding(which is what teachers are looking for). But yeah.. Really depends on your teacher.
