Hi
Basically I'm not too sure whether or not 成语 should be used in general conversation. I've seen some people use it but isn't the general conversation meant to be quite informal?

Use it, but more importantly, use it in the right context.  If not, it sounds really awkward and instead of rewarding you, it becomes your worst nightmare.

You could've done both though!

It'd be hard to fit it in, with the rest of my subjects
And I don't speak at home, so I'm disadvantaged already :P
