3 median regression like y-int(c)=1/3[(Yu+Ym+Yl)-m(Xu+Xm+Xl)]
Where u=upper m=middle and l=lower

It doesn't work for the exam questions nor essentials!

I dont get what you have written at ALL!
Maybe, scan it up by hand...

3- "MEDIAN"- regression, using the essential textbook technique, works on everything Ive tried thus far,
maybe give that a go.

I dont think they expect 100% accuracy on those 3 median questions. As long as you show the correct working out and get a relatively close answer its right.

i'm pretty sure that formula works...

make sure you aren't putting in a rounded value for the gradient, as this screws up your answer.  took me a while to work that out last year....

also, i think i've said this a million times, but there is an error in the essentials book for graphs and relations.  the integer rule/box methods or whatever it's called is crap, don't learn it or use it, it doesn't work...

The formula does work. The arithmetic approach to 3 median regression gives you the same answer as the calculator method. It's the graphical solution that gives approximates.

Did you use the formula for 10? I got something around 70's

Yea its 110, how did you know to do it visually and not by formula?

Okay, you separate your points into 3 even groups, in this case make the left group 3 points, the middle group 4 points, and the right group 3 points.

Then you find the median of each group.  Join your left median and right median to get your line, and then you move it 1/3 towards your middle median.

Oh ok, so would it worth if I use the medians of the 3 groups in the formula?

Is it just me or studying for statistics is insanely boring? (I hope the modules aren't as bad)

It should, and yes, statistics is insanely boring.  Wait till you get to time series, it sucks...
