How do i get the edge, do you reccomend doing every question from essentials or something differnt?

Also this may seem wierd but i have been actually abit scared that my calculator will break down in the exam...

My personal advice is NOT to do all the questions from textbooks, but, once you've done a few and think you know the theory well enough, try some harder questions. For me, the source of these are from past papers or other sources. These allow you to apply the skills learnt to harder problems, which in turn make the 'normal' problems easier.

Also, about the calculator, I believe you are allowed to take spare batteries? And you always have a scientific calculator as backup :D
Remember, remember the 5th of November

2010 - MM CAS (47) - Cisco 1+2 (pass :P)
2011 - Eng - Phys - Chem - Spesh - Latin - UMAT
ATAR - 99.00+ plz... :)

Feel free to PM me for anything :D

Would we be allowed two CAS calculators???

Nope, sadly.
Just a CAS and a scientific

No.

"For specified mathematics examinations, either one approved graphics calculator or one approved CAS may be used, as applicable to that study. A scientific calculator may also be used if desired. Students are not allowed to take into any examination a CAS and a graphics calculator."

Link.

Mind that this is old data; from last year, when non-CAS was still used.

It's ok, this will improve with more practice
In the process of doing practice papers in the summer, I definitely improved my ability to answer exam-type questions, so give it some time :)

In methods you cannot square root any negative number. No the negatives do not cancel.

Which can be evaluated except for the square root of -1, there is no number, a, which satisfies . So some crazy dude conjured up the imaginary number, i, which does satisfy the aforementioned condition. So

Imaginary numbers are part of the complex number set, C (Of which R is a subset ie.  )

Anyway this is Spesh, so I'll leave it alone, if you want to read more go here.

Hey i was wondering how to do this question as it doesnt have the equations i am unsure on how to go about solving these if someone could just do say 1 or 2 for me i think i would be able to work it out from there.

Also what is the easiest way to save snapshots to a photo i just had to...

Go to chapter 9 on the cd that was given (in essentials text book), find the question snapshot it, open up paint, paste, enlarge, then save to desktop...

Is there an easier way because i think i will be doing this alot.
