How can I do well in physics!

I do 8 hours of revision, but then I go into the SAC and I know hardly anything, my formula sheet is useless and I do bad Why does this happen? I do all the questions in class set, I have a general interest in physics but I still cant get it right Please, if anyone has any tips please comment

this is the same as me :O dw your not alone... my teacher said that you have to understand how to connect all the concepts somehow. whether it be visually or whatever. If you know how something somehow realtes to something else i dotn think u would have a problem.


At the sametime ..you might think u dont know anything but maybe u got a lot of questins right (hopefully this is the case for you and ur all good with it :3)

yeah thanks for the info mate   makes it a little better. What's a good methods for studying for physics, reading through it over and over, just doing the questions over and over, what methods do people use on here?

dont attempt questions without knowing the important concepts. if u have trouble understanding something, ur textbook isnt ur only source of reference, GOOGLE IT.

What topics have you covered so far and what parts of them have you found hard?

With study you SHOULDN'T do the same questions over and over because you basically know the answer. Do a fresh question and with your cheat sheet you should be putting in all the formulas and make sure you know what they mean. Also put in physics concepts because you need to understand the physics behind these things.

Ooh finally something I might be able to comment on!

Know your concepts. Often in VCE, people tend to find things harder than they really are because they're not thinking about the principles which lie there. For mechanics, all you really need to know is F=ma, the definitions of momentum and impulse and what can cause the forces. If you approach questions like that, you should be fine. Don't make it mechanical - think to yourself, what's happening? Is there a gravitational force? Is it undergoing circular motion? What's happening to the normal force?

I'd really recommend doing a bit of problem solving. It'll help to get you out of the 'well' that is VCE physics - you'll start thinking about things in terms of the physical principles and not in terms of the style of VCAA principles.
