all of these stories of people being ranked around sixth and still getting 50's is awesome.

shows that sacs really don't matter an awful lot.  as long as you're around the top, you'll be okay.
no need to stress over rank 1.

i'm now just gonna focus really hard on nailing the exams. :)

For methods, the only guy in my class who got a 50 was ranked about 6th-7th in sacs. Pretty much it all depends on how well you do in the exam that determines if you get a 50

Actually in that case, it also depends on how well everyone else did on the exams since he'd inherit the 7th person's exam mark as his SAC mark. If the 7th person also got near full marks, then a 50's possible. If everyone else in the cohort did terribly in SACs, even if that person got full marks on the exam, I doubt a 50 is possible.

i seriously reckon vcaa have some policy that says, if you smash the exams, your sac mark is irrelevant and you still get given an awesome ss.

Was he first rank though? That is what matters (rather than percentage).

A guy at MGS last year got a B on an English SAC where the average mark was A+.  He got a 50.
Wow, must've done pretty damn awesome on the exams and other SACs.

I heard that he got A+, A+, A, A and B or something along those lines for his SACs

I lost a bunch of marks on my last spesh sac giving me a sac mark of 94/100. However I was still rank 1 and so losing only half a mark on the exams gave me a 50.

For methods, the only guy in my class who got a 50 was ranked about 6th-7th in sacs. Pretty much it all depends on how well you do in the exam that determines if you get a 50
Mmm but do you go to a high performing school? If i get ranked 6-7th at my school it's a sign I'm not going very well, especially in a cohort of just 25 students. This sucks :(

It depends how harsh the marking criteria at a school are. At my school, A+ scores are rare and we usually have 7+ 50s in English, so a combination of As and A+s would definitely be enough for a 50... you could probably get some Bs and still be in the running/.

LOL i just had my methods sac today too! Stuffed up, i think its gonna be hard for me to get 40+ raw now..

Yeah i know its true that Sacs dont matter as much, but it certainly doesnt hurt to do well in them. I mean i got around 80% average last year for accounting, but our school had a really strong cohort. And i got like a mid or high A+ for end of year exam, so that helped me get A+ for sacs too.
