So, first term is done, who out there is doing it this year? And have you all done your first SAC on Globalisation and Internationalism yet?

The essay in the exam at the end of  the year is on Foreign Policy. Which leaves G+I as well as Conflict and Power in Asia Pacific as the short answer and extended responses in part A of the exam.
I did this subject last year, And decided to redo it this year as Im also doing politics and Inter Studs and Politics go well together, so makes it easier for me.

What I learnt from the exam last year, is that you should not expect stuff to be on the exam.
There was no United Nations, there were only 1 or 2 questions on Terrorism.

However, you still need to learn everything. Just make sure you have facts and figures and dont story tell.
Also keep an eye out for lectures from Social Edu Vic later on in the year for the subject. they generally also give you notes about the subject.

in terms of words. just because you may be taught one word in the subject at school, look at other terms that could be used.
go past the text book, use it for some stuff, but keep up to date. find recent examples that have happened under Rudd and Obama.
goals
nat pol = 42+
international studies = 30+
Engrish = 30+
Legal studies = who cares

I'm doing International Studies.

It's one of my favourite subjects because the coursework is so interesting. However it's probably the subject that I also feel least secure about.
The dreams that you dare to dream really do come true.

ok well, you must know the meaning of sovereignty! its a must. you need 4 characteristics of it, later on though you will need to really know the terminology. cos if you call a state or a nation a country, you will lose marks

What I like about this subject, is that you are taught to think not memorise. Of course you have to know events and dates, however you needn't know definitions verbatim like Legal and BM.
