i know it depends on your cohort blah blah blah, but seriously approximately what marks do you need to get an a+ on the exam?
2009: chinese SL(43-->50), methods CAS(not as good as chinese)

2010: english(41), methods CAS(40-->45), specialist(32-->39), biology(43-->44), chemistry(38-->42).

2011: Biomedical science and peace and conflict studies

it depends on how well everyone else goes, so the A+ cutoff scores generally fluctuate. ~90% id say, can be higher or lower.
2010- English, Methods (CAS), Physics, Specialist, Chem.
2011- Bachelor of Commerce/Aerospace Engineering - Monash

As superflya said, it depends on how the state takes the exam. Past years cutoffs can be seen here click on the year and then "section 3: grade distributions". Then select the subject and it will reveal the marks required to achieve certain grades.

A+ cutoffs for Bio:
Exam 1
2007:60.5/75

2008:62.5/75

2009:60/75

Average ~81%

Exam 2
2007:57.5/75

2008:56.5/75

2009:58/75

Average ~76%
2009/2010: Mathematical Methods(non-CAS) ; Business Management | English ; Literature - Physics ; Chemistry - Specialist Mathematics ; MUEP Maths

96.85

2011-2015: Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering and Bachelor of Science, Monash University

2015-____: To infinity and beyond.

There are low A+ to High A+. If you got both low A+ in the exams and also a low A+ in sacs you might even get a 39/40, just a word of warning since alot people think that three A+s means 40+

Don't aim for 81% :)
And don't think 81% will be easy.
If it were easy, it wouldn't be an A+
And I wouldn't have gotten my score after losing 5 marks on the first exam and 7 on the second.
2009 ENTER: 99.05
2014: BSci Hons (Microbiology/Immunology) at UoM
2015+: PhD (Immunology) at UoM

Your scores are a good reflection on how hard the exam can actually be, losing 12 marks total between two exams still places you in the top top with a 50. :D
