write "I did not go through 13 years of schooling just to fall at the final hurdle" and stick it on your wall

Can't help you there :( I'm the Queen of procrastination! My house is always noisy as well, and I can't block it out (and I don't like listening to music while I work as it distracts me XD) But the state library sounds like a good idea! You should go for it :P

Yeah my place is always really noisy too, its weird for me when i go to a really quiet place... its like... wah.. whered the noise go

lol I think the internet is seriously detrimental to my studies. There's so much to do on youtube and with e-gaming that it's so easy to get distracted. It doesn't help that bandwith is unlimited at my hall so I can download or watch as much as I want.

When I spent time in China without youtube etc. I was able to study hardcore from the early morning till dark.

And it's not even because I find procrastinating interesting... studying is far more interesting... but procrastinating is just easier, and I'm lazy.

A 'to do' list really helps, but only if you're realistic. Also, when I find it difficult to get motivated to study, I just decide to do it for 5 minutes. By the end of the 5 minutes I always feel as though I can keep working - it's just that getting started is the tricky bit.

I live in a pretty small unit, and I only have a small desk to study on, and it often gets rather noisy in the house.

I get distracted all the time and i can only study at library or study when everyone is asleep so its quiet.LOL

Hmmm...i think the main problem here seems to be excessive noise. If you can come straight home after school then sleep straight away then wake up at around 12-1 am you'd be able to study for SO long in a quiet and calm environment. That's what you need to do!

Oh man the fkn birds outside the window are also so distracting. Like, do they have anything better to do than squark their beaks off all day?

going state tomorrow. :)

stayed back at school today and studied in the silent room.  definitely a success.
silent study rooms are so good.  no distractions, and everyone around me is working hard and it just makes me work hard too.

make that city library.  state doesn't open till 10, and i'll be there by 8...

yeah, go state library, city library or rmit library.  unimelb would have a good one too.  the silent study areas are really good.  i just find i really work well there.

last year i would study in the rmit library after school finished a few times a week.  i' not really sure why i stopped. i actually got some good work done last year.
