What is the most efficient way of finding articles, letters, editorials or any language on the issues in the media?
Google?
Searching newspaper sites?

Looking through the Age's website, finds you alot of articles. If you're a vce performance pack customer you have an added benefit of looking through all the issue archives as well :D

I'm having trouble searching for articles using google and newspaper sites. Google directs you to information that sort of relates to the topic/article but not the article itself. And for sites such as The Age, if you wanted to search for specific articles that dated back to approx. 12 months ago you would incure a fee to view these??

... the catch is you need a password. Ask your school if they have it/ know anything about it. I can't give out my password - property of the school (they paid).

I don't think researching issues is that important. Knowing a bit more about the issue is a small advantage, especially now that persuasive pieces are no longer asked for in the new course.
I think your time would be far better spent in mastering language analysis. Being able to analyse any given article well (which is no easy task) is far more significant. Of course, engaging with current issues should be encouraged in a general sense, but probably better not to do so under the pretense of improving your VCE English.

That site really is the best thing my school ever did for Orals. That and Echo Ed. Both fantastic
