i got an english sac next week. stuff that. then i have two sacs week after midyears which is good.
Omg I got an English sac as well, which I am not anywhere READY for. Apparently in the VCAA guide booklet thing teachers have to give us at least 2 weeks notice before a SAC... that sure isn't happening at my school :(

rote learning=bad

Psych is pretty much all rote learning though.
Agreed. You can understand the stuff but in order to go well in exams (that is, the short answer), you have to remember those "perfect" responses. Gah.

Yeah, you pretty much need to memorise everything perfectly in order to do well haha it's so lameeeee

I'm thinking that Chem is halfway between rote-learning and being maths-like.
2009
~ Methods (Non-CAS) [48 --> 49.4]

2010
~ Spesh [50 --> 51.6]
~ Physics [50 --> 50]
~ Chem [43 --> 46.5]

2010 ATAR: 99.90
Aggregate 206.8

sorry i wasn't clear, i was adding on to what they were talking about, psych only .__.

chem doesn't really have much rote learning though, i've done none so far- dont think its necessary.

Hmm not much rote-learning in chem though, just have to remember the definitions of the different structures of protein and DNA- had a sac on it today :O
Grrr annoyed at psychology, it's 100% remembering facts T__T (dreading short answer)

Agreed. A few psych definitions are extremely long and seem unnecessary as well...
Biology is just application and following the rules so that examiners give you the mark

That's why I like biology :) People say biology is rote learning but I really do not see how it is.... actually I guess there is a little, but not much.

biology > psych

much less stuff to learn, most of it is just pure logic, and it is also far less competitive...

i doubt you could generalise that. At my school there are way more biology students hence your first statement of bio > pysch is true but bio is far more competitive then psychology...

I get where you're coming from, but with Psyc, it is like Further, you can't lose many marks if you are aiming high.  Then on top of that, it scales down.

With Bio, you can lose like 6 marks on each exam for a 50! That is crazy!  If you put in for Bio, you will get a descent result.  Psyc on the other hand, every mistake will hurt you big time, and then on top of that the scaling is shit...

How is the scaling shit? It's not even that bad...
