Yo, i'm currently in VCE and not doing Method (which i DEEPLY regret). I'm just curious about whether should i take Accounting in other Unis or go into the Business (Accounting) course in Caulfield and then transfer to the Accounting course in clayton (is that possible?).
It's all over now..

Don't know if this applied to BBus, but I've got a friend in Arts who is technically enrolled in the BA at Caulfield but is doing all her subjects at Clayton. On her diploma it'll say Bachelor of Arts - Caulfield Campus though.

No you can't, my friend does BBus. No BusEco (The faculty) subs from Clayton allowed.

Yes you can transfer at the end of first year. You will need to maintain a WAM of 70.00 though.

WAM = Weighted Average Mark (Basically the marks of the 8 units you will do over the year averaged out)

Here is another enquiry I have on a similar related topic.
I am thinking of doing a double degree in Commerce and Engineering. I would like to do the Commerce component at Caulfield though (it means less travel for me).
Is this possible?

Commerce is only offered at Clayton Campus. The equivalent is Business at Caulfield. Slight differences. Almost the same though.

which course is better? bachelor of business and commerce at berwick or bachelor of business at caulfield.

the bachelor of business course requires a much higher enter.

I think the Bachelor of Business at Caulfield is better.

I'd consider the caulfield cause to be better. Just like how I would consider the Commerce course to be better than Business. Having said that, it is my personal opinion. The course would not exist if there wasn't a reason for it to.

would the bachelor of business @ caulfield also be considered better than commerce @ deakin.

Well I'll put it out there first. I can't really speak without being biased here because I am a bachelor of business student. But personally I would consider the Business course at Caulfield to be better. I don't actually know the ENTER for deakin. I know the one for my course is actually relatively low. I'm not sure for deakin I think it was lower. But I consider Business to be better because well its at Monash. And I don't really consider business to be a 'slackers' alternative to Commerce anymore because well its basically the same and when you have fail rates for first year units of around 45% well yer. The course structure is solid, especially in regards to looking for postgrad study and professional recognition. Also Monash is part of the group of eight and it has ties to many overseas unis if you want to go abroad.

I guess what that rant is trying to say is. Its not just the ENTER. Its the course structure, name, etc.

Find out what you want to do after uni and find the most relevant course to achieve it. I know deakin has some commerce majors that aren't offered anywhere else.

But again. I'm biased. GO MONASH! :)

I think the Bachelor of business at caulfield will be my likely option as i dont think i will achieve an enter high enough for commerce at clayton or at melb uni. The enter for the commerce degree at deakin is pretty much the same as the bachelor of business at caulfield, i think they're both at about 82. something.

Go to Deakin, trust me. It's a load better. Caulfield is epically boring. No really, don't go to Caulfield.

Really? the caulfield campus is pretty big isn't it? I assumed it would be a pretty good campus.

The person above seems to think monash is good also.
I don't know what to do..... I'll be seeing the careers person at my school pretty soon, i'll see what she says.

Yeah Caulfield might be bearable for a year or so, but then it just becomes a drag and utterly repetitive. There's no mix at all, I mean at times it can be as boring as a small dumpster without anyone to mess with lol.

And compared to any other uni, the course is pretty fickle, especially if you want to something other than accounting. It's just HORRIBLY pathetic. Especially economics, it's pathetic to the bone. Yup, I'm just telling the truth without any sugar coating, it sucks.

If you go to Deakin, it would at least have a lively campus feel to it that you could enjoy and participate.

So case in point, Caulfield is a dump and you'd be much better going of to somewhere else (you'd die if you stayed there for 4 years lol).
