I'm wondering what the A+ cutoff will be. 06 was apparently 72% and this felt just as challenging, not to mention the ridiculous length of the paper.. ~75%?

I just remembered!
The two answers i narrowed it down to were glycolipid and globular protein.

Globular proteins tend to be well... like globs of protein.. many chains like heaped into each other but this was like 1 straight protein going straight up"

Cholesterol doesnt "stick out" of the cell membrane and even if it does... it wouldnt look like a saccharide molecule like this one did (it had like a chain or square or hexagons... how ever they represent it)

They're good points. Crap :(
I feel like I lost like 5 marks in multiple choice, at the very least. It was way more challenging than any other paper from the study design, not to mention it took so long to read and consider everything properly.

I would of just given up and got the extra sleep, do you know mark you should of just stole answers off him lol he did pretty good in bio
Ah, I didn't stay up the whole night cramming. I gave up at 2am but then lay awake the rest of the night being all jittery.
Darn you, VCAA! *shakes fist*

I *do* know Mark but I'm not ~pals~ with him or anything lol. It'd be so weird and ass hole-ish to demand answers from him. What did he get for bio? Just curious. :o

nahh, on last years unit 3 exam, mavisgibbons lost 5 marks and got 50, so I reckon this year less than 10 marks lost on the unit 3 exam would have you in the running for a 45+

Yeah, you can generally lose quite a lot of marks and still do well.
I guess that all depends on SAC marks though, my ranking in my school isn't that crash hot. Your position compared to the other people doing biology in your school alters the exam component of your study score.

sorry to go back to it but for the laundry powder question (such a bad question, i didn't study on washing machines) didn't one of the options have a slightly higher ph? like 9ish? i chose that one as i went with the theory that laundry detergent/soap = alkaline...

Yeah I think I chose the 40 degree, highish pH one, because soap is alkaline... but a few of them had high pHs. The temperature was near-impossible to know unless you ever stick your hand inside a washing machine when it's going or are involved in the production process >_<

Same that's the one I chose since the only thing that I thought of at the time was that laundry power is alkaline --> remembered from year10

don't worry... my friends were talking about how we didn't learn 3 stages of photosynthesis until they realized it was asking for cellular respiration.. majority probably got that one wrong

Shit.
That question that asked about 3 photosynthesis stages was for Cellular respiration?
No wonder I was like wtf is the third stage..
I hate exam impact!
