How hard is accounting? What is it like

How hard is accounting?? Is it easy to pick up??? If I worked hard but wasnt the smartest person would I still be able to get about a 42+?

How much work is required

any other info I should know before swapping to it

Im seriously considering doing it next year
Gonna drop physics for it!! (bloody hate physics)

i picked it up this year without doing units 1/2 despite my school advising me not to and ive gathered a pretty good understanding so far. Prac is fairly easy i just make sure i do heaps of activities in the book to really grasp the concept. My theory is a little sketchy but through reading the book on a regular occurance im getting better. I think if u are willing to put in effort as u have already stated you'll do fine.

Ok... I don't do accounting... but you’re the best judge on whether you’ll enjoy the subject/ be capable of it Make sure you look thoroughly over the syllabus before you switch, because you may end up finding you actually prefer physics. (I did this with a couple of my IB subjects LOL, I switched subjects and found that I'd actually prefer being in the ones I was in previously.)
Also, as for the work component, although I do not do accounting, I believe all subjects require hard work and a lot of effort. Don’t listen to people who say, “oh, you don’t need to do ANY work for [insert subject here]!” because it’s often not true. It’s more satisfying to try your hardest in any thing you do, and you’ll achieve a lot more!

I'm doing Units 3/4 Accounting this year with near perfect in all 3 SACs so far. Accounting isn't hard at all!! If you grasp the concept you will pick it up very quickly. As for the theory, it will come with time. As you gain a better understanding of how the prac works the theory behind it is not difficult to understand.

i know someone who only picked it up in year12 last year and they got over 40...you have to be willing to put in the effort though...and i'm sure you would

i don't think it is hard(i get A+ all the time,my teacher says i can get a 50 next year 8-)).i'm in yr11 now,finished 1&2(Mac) already,and i'm studying Cambridge 3&4 (i like this textbook better,but our school doen't use it ).the theory isn't hard to understand.what you need is practice,a lot of practice!

Its hard to pick up...Even though my exam is tommorow im still a little sketchy on a few topics, but its easy to memorize a few things and get easy marks.

If you dont mind doing a few hours a week, than its an easy basic maths and logic subject
