I think that unlike Methods, Chem is a subject where the 50's are generally spread out across schools.
2009
~ Methods (Non-CAS) [48 --> 49.4]

2010
~ Spesh [50 --> 51.6]
~ Physics [50 --> 50]
~ Chem [43 --> 46.5]
~ English [46 --> 46.2]
~ UMEP Maths [5.0]

2010 ATAR: 99.90
Aggregate 206.8

I don't know anyone who's checked the answers and who's confident that they scored 100%. And that says a lot, because I've talked to a lot of high performing students.

=/ There's always people hidden away

And if it's wrong to say that a Bunsen Burner cannot be used because "Bunsen burners are ineffective at controlling the temperature", then what % of the state will have got that wrong?

I said something about combustion.

According to my friend/random chemistry teachers, either answer should be acceptable.

I also didn't answer the millimole question, the biodiesel one (which I should've gotten) and the one on finding double bond.

One more week of study and I would've aced, but what can you do.

I didn't do year 11 chem and was just catching up (got 95% for last SAC), but just didn't get good fast enough.

Do you guys think that the bunsen burner's more rapid heating increasing the chance of cracking reactions occurring is a valid answer?

Phew.  I hope your right.  That would mean I am back up to 73 marks.  And if they take my 3/1 answer, then 74 marks.  Doubt it though...

Hmm, but then again, 3/1 is a value I guess.  I don't know.  I can just tell that they are going to takes marks off for anything.

lol if they take marks off for 3:1 or 3/1 then VCAA are the biggest dogs in the world.

I'm hoping they take the temperature control thing. Also anyone reckon they'll take MnO4- by itself for the reagant or would you have needed an acidified (H+) with it too..... i think i put the H+ but im second guessing myself lol

Apart from those two uncertainties, its just the 5 bloody MC's i got wrong ><
