a) First we need to find the points of intersection.

$y = \frac{1}{\sqrt{2} + x^2}$

$y = \sqrt{2} - x^2$

$\frac{1}{\sqrt{2} + x^2} = \sqrt{2} - x^2$

$1 = 2 - x^4$

$x^4 = 1$

$x = 1$ or $x = -1$

To find area enclosed by that, find:

$A = \int^{1}_{-1} (\frac{1}{\sqrt{2} + x^2} - \sqrt{2} + x^2) dx$
