Is it possible to do a course that results in you being able to become a dentist if you have an enter score of 94?
Sorry i am a noob at this whole tertiary education thing.

Look up the enters of the dentistry courses on different universities websites.

I don't know much about dentistry at all so don't listen to me but 94 sounds a tad low from what i know about how competitive it is.

The only currently offered undergraduate dentistry course in Victoria is at LaTrobe University and even that needs 99+ now. It was around 98 a few years back because it was new. Now that Melbourne's removed its dental science course and made it graduate entry (the DDS), LaTrobe's been at a higher demand. Most of the interstate ones are just as competitive - most need you to sit the UMAT (which Andrew mentioned above) and achieve a pretty decent score for an interview/a chance (some have interviews like Adelaide, not all do).

heyy..... I wanted to do Dentistry at the start of the year but then just gave up on it! LOL... but yeah you can do bachelor of science with an enter of 85 at Melbourne University then transfer to Oral health.. or Alternatively do bachelor of Oral health! then transfer to doctor of dentistry! the entry requirement for Oral health is I think around high 70's for Melbourne.. I'm not sure check it up!

hope that helped! :)

Sorry Abdi, I know you're being helpful but you can't "transfer" from Oral Health to the DDS. Technically, you have to graduate with a degree and then meet the prerequisites (anatomy, biochemistry and physiology) for the DDS.

See the accepted prereqs (same as for the graduate medicine degree):
http://www.medicine.unimelb.edu.au/docs/MDPrerequisitesVIC.pdf

I don't think Oral Health meets them. So you can't really get from oral health to the DDS unless you do extra units to meet the prerequisites. You're probably better off doing Biomedicine or Science if you don't intend to become a dental hygienist or therapist as a fall back. Just remember there's the GAMSAT to tackle for the graduate pathway and a crapload of people competing with you for the small amount of spots they have on offer. Your marks in your first degree would also be very important for selection. All up, not easy.
