Prize = perfect score :P

Not necessarily
With the above score I got a $50 prize :P

:O You think that's bad the.watchman...
Yeah, highest award is a medal, or better yet a BH Neumann Certificate (I think they changed the name of it) - which denotes perfect score.

NO... lol perfect score = Medal + BH Neumann Cert. (I think they consider "Medal" a subcategory under prize though). Note that no one in Australia got a perfect score last year in intermediate/senior so it is quite difficult, you must have excellent mathematical intuition!
You can normally get a prize with 5-6 incorrect answers lol.
Medal - normally 0-2

Hahah, it's funny how international countries do better. There were like 2 from Indonesia and 13 from Singapore (IIRC) and practically everyone were males (and from the same school - the top school(s) I reckon) :P
Yeah. I don't know why Singapore are allowed to take our comps and we aren't allowed to take theirs, but whatever... as for Australia, James Ruse, followed by Sydney Grammar tend to dominate (though Syd Grammar didn't get any medals last year but this year they have a few olympians). Do you know someone called Phil/Kiho Park from your school? IMO closing ceremony's in 2 days, I wonder how AUS went, we had quite a strong team this year.

Haha yeah I heard about him. He's in the (A)IMO team yeah? I know how he looks like and all but no, I've never talked to him. Korean dude :P I'm a little confused, weren't you supposed to be in IMO this year? (That's why you said you were just gonna do (insert quantity) VCE Subjects hahaha)
What competitions are there in Singapore...? :P I know there are definitely olympiads, but I don't think I've heard much before. Maybe it's just Aussie which seems to have so many competitions, including the ICAS from UNSW.
Brunei is a pretty good country too.
No way, I'm not near good enough as for now... it's just IMO team (AIMO is a completely different thing). And I'm taking VCE more seriously now that I've decided to do a postgrad law degree :) There's a lot of olympiads for every country - they use them to select their own team. For example, America has like AIME, AMC (America), Putnam and more that I have forgotten. There are even regional ones in larger countries!
LOL yeah same, I've been in the same lecture theatre as him but haven't really talked to him either. ;)

Most of my maths friends take the AMC as a bit of a joke - it's not proofs or anything; it's largely a multiple choice test. Although I do have a friend who's complained about "only" winning two medals...

Only 1 perfect score this year, by a Chinese (when do these guys not get perfect scores? 8 of the past 10 years a Chinese has gotten a perfect score)

Why was North Korea disqualified? Probably something that happened that I completely missed haha
