To help explain ADR's, can anyone give an appropriate example that expands as you run through all 5 ADR's?

Yes, I'm talking about a one good example that can run through all 5 ADR's. For example, someone parks their car in another persons lawn, dispute can be resolved through negotiation. In mediation, a third party, such as a mutual friend can make sure the resolution of the dispute regarding the car does not go out of hand, In conciliation .. etc

A good example anyone can think of that can reflect all 5? (or just negotiation, mediation, conciliation & arbitration)

all 5? negotiation, mediation, conciliation, arbitration, _________?

Negotiation, Mediation, Conciliation, Collaborative Law, Arbitration.

What is collaborative law..... the only other avenue i've heard of instead of the ones mentioned by spreadbury is self-help

I can't think of one off of the top of my head. As far as I know you just need to know how it works and when it can be used -- ie what it's most suited for. So for example, mediation and conciliation would be suited for family law, arbitration is more of a business thing, but not always. negotiation is, like, talking to your neighbours over the fence to ask them to stop mowing the lawn at six in the morning... and to be honest, i never really did much on collaborative law -- my teacher said it was a puny part of the couse and not to worry much about it, so i can't think of an example. to be honest though, in order to remember them better, you're better off being able to make your own ones.

My textbook mentions collaborative law, I saw it today, but in class today we skipped over it. Im guessing its the chances of it coming up are .0001% on the exam.

To answer OP you cant really provide an example, youll more likely be asked about the effectiveness (strengths and weaknesses) of one of them come the end of the year.
