What do you need to get to get into pharmacy at monash
and latrobe??

like the prerequesites and their scores, enter score cut off (rough), UMAT cut off etc...................................
and also to anyone who goes to latrobe pharmacy at bendigo
hows it like there?

No idea about latrobe but monash requires english + methods + chem, all above 30.

Also needs the UMAT, which is the main hurdle

enter wise .. try to get between 95-97 as a minimum

latrobe .. minimum enter .. 90-92 maybe 95 or so .. depends

it pretty much depends on enter + umat

did chem/bio/health/meth/eng/pe/italian/accounting over 2 years

Hm sorry about the skepticism but I don't think they would overlook the prerequisites so easily; they're prerequisites for a reason. The offer wouldn't process through if methods was under 30. How is that friend coping? He would've done a crash course in specialist maths calculus in one of the units (physicochem) in semester one first year already.

There were cases on this forum, and one where an obviously capable student who had exceeded the ENTER score but with one short of the pre-req (i.e. if it was 25, said person got 24) and didn't get in even with appeals.

Unless there was a special consideration that was very well emphasised - but I don't actually know what happens in that case or if anyone's ever done this so I'll leave it here.

the thing is
as i recall in the past
methods wasnt a 100% pre req . it was just a recommendation ( correct me if im wrong . but thats what i remember)
the pre reqs where  was chem + ANY MATHS or physics /biology

so thats why i dont think they take it so serious
otherwise , you are correct ... the application wont even go through if raw score is under 30

Toothpaste is a pharmacy student, I think she knows what she's talking about.

Unless you completely outline exactly what your friend's circumstances were, I don't think you should be making blanket statements like "Monash doesn't care about the methods pre-req".

Alrite here is the jist of it...

For La Trobe: Do prereqs subjects (eng 30, Atleast 25 in chemistry and mathematical methods (either))
ATAR of 86+ can get in
ATAR of 90+ no interview required
                    Interview for lower ATAR
                    No UMAT

Monash: Do prereqs (chem, methods, eng (30)im pretty sure methods is a prereq)
Ill quote from the VTAC "at least 30 in chemistry and mathematical methods (either)" (2010 VTAC guide) But im not sure the either means it has to be either methods OR chem have to be 30 or that it mean methods CAS or normal methods.
ATAR of 88+ (given that it is balanced with UMAT score)
For just pharmacy normally if the UMAT isnt that great (its around 92-97)
Other factors apply like SEAS can get you in with a lower ATAR (reranking of       prereqs also applies)
For Pharmacy/Commerce ATAR 97+ to get in when UMAT is not great
             SEAS also applies

Hope that helps

Depends on UMAT and special consideration I think (although I haven't heard of any cases where a high UMAT has compensated so I'm not too sure of its impact; most likely because those who got a high UMAT went to med anyway). I've heard of people under 90 getting in with special consideration. But for someone with a ~90 percentile UMAT or so, I think it's more around 96-97 from what I've heard of. The course has gone up quite a bit in recent years..

No i meant 88+ given that the person has a high UMAT(88 is like the lowest xtreme balanced with the UMAT of the highest extreme) balanaced with it or other factors such as SEAS and reranking prereqs

And i do agree with you 93+, but i have stated between 92-97 is for normal pharmacy degree given that the UMAT score is pretty average (if the 3 add up to 160+ as it was stated for last years some of my friends had 96 enters and only 48 over percentiles for UMAT)

Are you sure those were percentiles and not overall scores? The overall score for the three adding up to 160 is 53, and that's probably around 70-80 percentile (correct me if I'm wrong, cbf checking the graph). 48 percentile doesn't sound right. Pretty sure they won't let you in with a UMAT that low unless you've got SEAS or something.

Atar is the same as enter right? Are you sure you can get in to these courses with an enter of below 95....
