A long trough whose cross-section is parabolic is 1 and a 1/2 metres wide at the top and 2 metres
deep. Find the depth of water when it is half-full.

Turn the trough on its side and sketch the sideways parabola on the Cartesian plane, let's say with the turning point at (0,0) and the endpoints at (2, 3/4) and (2, -3/4). Let the point on the x-axis at which , where is the equation of your sideways parabola.

Should be just a matter of computation now. :)

where can i find out what was the cut off for an A+ etc. for this exam?
