mechanical engineering or automotive engineering?

Anyone on here that does mechanical engineering or automotive engineering at Uni? I'd really like to know how you find it. If their good degrees or not, if its in demand etc etc

Automotive is a subset of Mechanical, hence will restrict you. Going for the traditional streams will always serve you better.

So would I be able to still get into the automotive industry with mechanical engineering?

yeah my mate is doing mechanical engineering and you can get into the automotive industry

I dont know about demand, but Im pretty sure that its competitive when it comes to the automotive industry. like, if you want to work for companies that make F1 racing cars, then you'd have to be pretty good at what you do.
