TSFX, NEAP, or Derrick Ha

About the september end of year lectures

Someone said that NEAP is really good for chem.

And tram says TSFX is good for maths and has the best notes going around.

Anyone can confirm this?

I haven't heard much about Derrick Ha though

My friend went to neap for chem mid year and said it was crap.

TSFX seems alright. As far as i know, they give you tons of notes to read over.

Derrick Ha not too sure

i read that you get like a 170page bound reference from Derrick Ha for methods. just to get into his lecture is like $89 Not sure if i wanna pay that much....

I went to both TSFX and Derrick Ha last year for Methods. This year I'm planning to only go to Derrick Ha for Spesh.

TSFX= question spam (at least with Irena Methods...) and very comprehensive notes.

Derrick Ha= greater understanding and moreover a more thought-provoking lecture.

I went too Derrick's and TSFX for Meth last year.

After all that I can rightfully say, atleast for "Maths" its useless to go to lectures!

Because Maths, is only learnt through the hard yards, practice practice practice.
You can never expect to go in, and come out a grade better?

Correct me if Im wrong.

Yeah this is true.

I reckon maths you just need practice and exposure to a variety of questions. Then you get used to it.

Other subjects would be too, but for example chem, some concepts you may not understand correctly and need clarification.

Whereas maths doesn't really have much 'theory'

It would be interesting to see how derrick ha approaches questions, and how he sets out his working. as well as his BOUND REFERENCE! one that you make would not nearly be as good as his... he completed vce very recently so he must know a lot about how they deduct marks for stupid stuff and will advise on how to not get penalised

I got the "bound reference" . Its nothing too special. A mini summary of the textbook really. His working is nothing too special either, very textbook style - with exambuster style annotations.

BTW, his lecture wont live upto the standards your expecting 99.95

He doesnt really emphasis, those kinds of things.

Thats the kind of things TSFX do, rather than him - interestingly enough.

You're the first person i've seen to not say something good about Derrick Ha

Everyone else says "he helps alot" "i got a high score because of him"

He can't be any worse than TSFX... i mean, they are pretty bad

Im not saying he is "BAD".

Im saying he wont live up too your expectations.

You tell me, how can someone in 6 hours, speaking to mass group of 300+
gain you a high score, over the whole 12 - 13 years of schooling ?

Its only marginally better than TSFX if you really want to compare.
And the notes, are more "detailed" with TSFX. I mean more explained.
